Greyhound gambling outlawed in the Beaver State

1996 actions taken

Greyhound advocates have just won a major victory. On May 7, Governor Tina Kotek signed a bill to phase out all internet wagering on dogs in Oregon. Bets were hosted in Oregon but placed by gamblers nationwide, to the tune of $90 million a year!

Please take the time to thank Governor Tina Kotek, State Representatives David Gomberg and Courtney Neron, and State Senator Deb Patterson for championing this groundbreaking measure.

The campaign to end dog racing took years to win and required the compassionate and strategic coordination of all these wonderful greyhound heroes. Please let them know how grateful you are today.
